Captain's Traditional Fish & Chips

This is the only Fish&Chip Shop I use and I have to drive to get there. The food is Fantastic, portions are very generous (buyer be warned). It’s tasty Fish is beautifully sweet and lovely earthy chips. I’m drooling on my drive to the shop. The staff are personable and generous. The price is great. It does get busy but worth the wait. This is the best chippy for miles. Treat yourself.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Captain’s Traditional Fish & Chips! I took my son there and the customer service was brilliant. The Captain himself was so kind — he gave us some free chips while we waited for our order and even offered my son a free soft drink, which really made his day. The fish and chips were amazing as always — perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavour. It’s little touches like this that makes this place best in town. Highly recommend!

Really lovely place. The kind gentleman gave me some chips while I waited for my order which was so nice and even gave me some more for the kids to enjoy before we got home. Really great service, great chips and its a nice clean shop with lots to look at. Really reminds me of Fish and Chip shop visits we’d have back in the 90s after school, real nostalgic, authentic, traditional vibe!! Amazing thank you and simply delicious!

Awesome service, wonderfully run & most importantly the food is great. Tastes fresh every time. Restaurant is clean & well presented. Everyone is friendly & know how to speak to customers. It’s the way a proper chippy should be run. We love this place, well done to this owner. We will always return.

This place is amazing! Easily among the best fish and chips I've tried. The owner is very friendly and kind - gave us some chips to try while we waited and even gave us an extra fish as he said the 2 we had ordered were too small. The food is excellent. The fish is very fresh and the oil they use is obviously high quality. You can really tell the difference in taste compared to other fish and chip shops - the fish batter is delicious, very light and crisp. Same with the chips, even their colour is better. The portions are also very generous at a decent price. Ordered a small portion of chips and it was probably enough for 5 people. Definitely would recommend!

This has been my favorite fish and chip since I was a kid. 12+ years and running. This family run spot is the best tasting and highest quality. You will want to be back again! Warm staff and great tasting food. Get yourselves here!
